Great Langdale Photography Workshop - Saturday 13th April 2019

from 15.00

Join like minded photographers and fellow lovers of the beautiful Lake District on a fully guided tour of the the Great Langdale valley, with the Langdale Pikes being the prominent peaks. This day is perfect for the beginner or amateur landscape photographers who are still shooting in auto and want to learn to take full control over their camera. We will look at using your camera in aperture priority and full manual, learn about composition, focusing techniques and methods, shooting in Raw over jpeg and generally have a great day out in the fells. The group numbers are limited to 4 so that you get the most out of the day

The day will start in Elterwater at 12:00 where we will have a briefing and spend an hour going over where you are on your photography journey and if there’s anything in particular you would like help with. We will also go over a few camera settings so everyone knows how to operate and change modes on their cameras before we head out, for this it is advisable that you bring your camera instruction manual along with you.

We will aim to be walking by 13:30, where we will head up to a great view point of the Langdale Pikes, to practice some of the methods I’ll be teaching you. We will then head on towards Stickle Tarn below the Pikes and hope for some nice reflections in the water of the Pikes. From here we will head down to The New Dungeon Ghyll, where we can relax for a while and go over some of the shots and techniques so far.

We will then head back over Lingmoor Fell where we will photograph the sunset at 20:11 from one of the most photogenic spots in The Lake District. Then we’ll head back to Elterwater for a debrief and post processing crash course.
