Wild Camping Photography Workshop

from 50.00

Designed for the more adventurous photographer, this workshop will see us venturing high into the Lake District fells and sleeping under the stars. Where you will be taught how to capture the perfect mountain landscape images and we will also look at some long exposure and night sky photography.

Before heading out, we will look into the techniques and methods I use for planning and preparing the perfect shot, as well as basic camp craft skills. Out on the hill you will learn things such as; how to compose the best shot and how to focus your camera correctly, the use of filters to control the light, we’ll also look at using your camera in full manual mode and the art of long exposure photography. Clear skies permitting, I will teach you how to capture the beauty of the night sky and bring out all the details in The Milky Way in an image. I will also cover aspects such as image stacking and blending and I will give you a post processing crash course when we get of the hill so you can learn how to correctly process a Raw file.

With group sizes limited to four, you'll have as much one-to-one tuition time as possible. Additionally, this will help us to minimize our effect on the environment.

You should already have some understanding of the exposure triangle, and your camera settings etc. A tripod is essential, and the recommended lens for this workshop would be the fastest wide angle you have, for example 16mm f2.8.

Camping gear (such as a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat and cooking gear) is included, if required.

Price

£150 - 1 person, £200 - 2 people, £250 - 3 people, £300 4 - people.

A non refundable deposit of £50 is required upon booking. If in the unlikely event the workshop doesn’t go ahead due to adverse weather condition or acts of God, then every effort will be made to arrange another date, failing that you will receive a full refund.
