Buttermere Valley Guided Photo Tour

The Buttermere Valley located in the North West region of The Lake District national park is home to three lakes, Buttermere, Crummock water and Loweswater. There are varying levels of walks from lakeside strolls, forested walks and and higher level fell walks including Haystacks, Fleetwith Pike, Robinson, Red Pike and many more.

With arguably the best views in The Lake District, the Buttermere valley offers some fantastic photographic opportunities for a landscape photographer. The views looking west from the summit ridges of Haystacks and Fleetwith Pike are perfect for a sunset shoot, such as from the Warnscale Bothy. The light in the morning at sunrise can be perfect for lakeside shots, with the sun rising and hitting the rocky butresses and crags of Haystacks and the famous Buttermere Pines. There’s a multitude of fences and stone walls on the lake shores, including ‘The Lonely Tree’ which can be incorporated and used as leading lines and foreground interest. Also perfect for trying out some long exposure photography, adding some movement into the water and clouds can bring a shot to life.

I have an intimate knowledge of these locations and I know the best photography spots, I will guide you safely leaving you to enjoy the day and get some great images.

Suitable for a group of friends or family groups of up to six people. I can design a walk suitable for your groups needs and requirements. Just get in touch and we’ll talk about the kind of day you would like.

Please note this is not a photography workshop, but I will be on hand to give any tips and advice. Please visit my workshop page if you would like a more in depth photography workshop.
